Garrett Law won the Inaugural Pogorzelski-Yankee Memorial Fellowship from the American Guild of Organists in 2014. The fellowship, worth $22,500 over the course of three years, was awarded to six organists chosen from a pool of over fifty applicants from across the United States. He currently serves as Assistant-Organist Choirmaster at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Center City Charlotte, North Carolina and as Assistant Director of The Choir School at St. Peter's. His principal duties include accompanying Sunday Choral Eucharist and bi-weekly services of Choral Evensong at St. Peter's, directing the chorister training program at The Choir School, and accompanying six choirs on a weekly basis. In June 2018, he will accompany the touring ensembles of The Choir School during their tour of Virgina and Washington DC. In the summer of 2019, he will accompany The Choir Schools' premier auditioned ensemble, The Mastersingers, during their week-long choral residency at Durham Cathedral in the UK.  

 

St. James Anglican Catholic Church in Cleveland, Ohio

Prior to his appointment at St. Peter's and The Choir School, Mr. Law served as Director of Music and Organist-Choirmaster at St. James Anglican Catholic Church in Cleveland, Ohio. He directed The Choir of St. James which is a 8-voice paid ensemble which specialized in liturgical chant, renaissance motets, and liturgical mass settings from the 10th to 21st centuries. During his tenure, Mr. Law reinvigorated the parish's tradition of Choral Evensong and conducted a concert performance of Gabriel Faure's Requiem, Op. 48, with orchestral accompaniment. 

 

St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Akron, Ohio

Mr. Law previously served as Assistant-Organist Choirmaster at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Akron, Ohio. During his tenure he accompanied two choral services every Sunday, monthly Choral Evensong, and other special services such as Lessons & Carols or choral concerts. He trained choristers aged 8 to 18 in the RSCM chorister training program. In the summer of 2014 he accompanied The St. Paul's Choir of Men, Boys, and Girls during their weeklong choral residency at Ely Cathedral in Ely, UK.
