Recital Sneak Peek: The Fisk organ at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Greenville, NC

C.B. Fisk Op. 126

C.B. Fisk Op. 126

I’m playing a recital in Greenville, NC on June 30th at 7pm. A big part of preparing for a recital is learning to make music on a new instrument! Every organ has a unique palette of stops, or sounds, to be prepared.

Luckily, the Fisk organ at St. Paul’s is very similar to the organ that I play at St. Peter’s in Charlotte. I consider the Fisk organ at St. Paul’s to be St. Peter’s bigger sister. I’ve included the stop list of C.B. Fisk Op. 126 at the bottom of this post.

I am excited about the instrument, but also about the program. I am playing a diversity of repertoire, including two of my own compositions and a major work by Florence Price as the anchor of the recital.

Here’s a sneak peek of my piece called “Toccata on Conditor Alme Siderum”. You may recognize it as a Gregorian chant for the liturgical season of Advent sung to the words “Creator of the stars of night”.
